Was our date night. It was a lovely night :) The food was amazing! We had camembert, bread and onion chutney; my partner doesn't usually like chutney but he liked theirs. Then we had steak and ribs. The steak was a lovely cut and cooked perfectly. The waitress was run off her feet as she was alone working the bar but she was still really polite and nice. We will go their again most definitely.
Food lovely as always... Staff friendly, even do takeaway cake. Also, found out it has a beer garden too after 7 years of visiting.

Excellent creative food in a lovely old pub. I have been staying in Devon for 2 months and have been to this pub 5 times because I love the food. The Devon foodie scene is alive and kicking we know, but to find a place that has the quality of food, great service and located in a historic building is a rare. The presentation of the food is also worthy of a mention. The best Sunday roast I have had in Devon plus the chocolate orange mousse was the icing on the cake. Can't wait to come back.
